Time To Call It Quits?

Written by Ari at 3:24 PM
Is it time to call it quits? I seem so out of the loop lately. Am I one of few bloggers out there who reads for fun? No one reads this blog (Watch as this post doesnt even get any views) I buy all my books or get them all from the library except for a few select times. No one really CARES if I leave. Its almost been a year, and sadly I feel that it was a year wasted. So what does anyone (if anyone is even reading this) think.

Is it time to call it quits?

I'm here for you!
If you like the blog, keep it up.
If not, then stop.
I personally like it. But I'm not Ari and don't know what is going on in Ari's head. I doubt I really want to. Just kidding. Maybe. :)
Point is, do it for you.
Love,
A girl with screwed up priorities who loves you

Haha well Ari's head is saying "You seem to still be stuck where you were a year ago. Meanwhile everyone else is quickly speeding through the blogging world. Ari does not like being stuck"

Ari! I love you, and I love your blog. GIRL, you have more followers than I do! However, you shouldn't do it for the followers, or to see how many ARCs you can rack up, you need to do it for you. I started it because I enjoy reading, and I get to connect with so many great people (like you and Court). While I'm not going to complain about the awesome perks that came with it, that's not what keeps me motivated to keep up with my blog. You need to do what's right for you. If you think you'd even be the slightest bit unhappy if you got rid of your blog, then you don't need to. Hearts, Kels.

Personally, I don't think you should quit. I don't know you, but you seem like you must be awesome since you talk to yourself in the third person. And if you read for fun, you might as well put it to good use, right?

I actually just found your blog recently but I really like it. It's not my decision though. It's completely up to you whether or not you keep posting. If it's no longer enjoyable for you though, it probably means you should at least take a break.

Well I do read what you post, but if you're not enjoying what you are doing anymore... you're the only one who can make the call

Haha I just feel so stuck. And then there are things like you and courtney write these awesome long reviews that seem to draw people towards them. And Im just sitting here wondering that perhaps that sitting in quicksand for the rest of the time I do this wont be the best thing for me. I dont know *sigh*

Its not that its not enjoyable, I just dont want to be the person who years from now is still doing this but Im basically talking to myself because people want to see blogs that are more exciting.
Thanks
Ari

I love writing reviews and talking to all of you. But I just dont want to be stuck, like those websites you come upon from the 90s that just sit there all in type, nothing else, with people getting bored and leaving.

Size of the review doesn't matter. It's how well you write them.
Yeah, ours might be long, but that doesn't mean you can understand a word that is put up there.
And if you feel stuck, like you're not going anywhere with it. Or you want to get in with more people. Push your way through. Talk to authors and publishing houses.
I know you can talk up a storm to them. You have stayed up for HOURS talking to us about your love of books.
But the big question is: Do you want to continue posting?
Don't think about how many followers you have or how many people will read it. Think about how you feel about it.

Ari, I am an ENGLISH MAJOR. Haha it is in my nature to write long reviews. Girl, you can totally get your point across in a paragraph, or even a few sentences...as long as you put your heart into it, and tell the author how you really feel. There are times when I only write a paragraph (go look at my review for Perfect Chemistry) because I just can't even think of the right words to explain what I'm feeling.

Besides, you know those blurbs on the back of books from other authors telling you how awesome they thought the book was? Yeah, one sentence TOPS.

I love writing my reviews for everyone, and i love talking to everyone. I just dont know how to push my way through, and thats the issue. I mean I get frustrated with the number of reviews i let pile up but then when I see that one comment about how I helped them make a decision about reading the book I smile. Like the day I found out I didnt get into honors english, I saw a comment on my review of BC that talked about how they heard amazing things and thanks to my review they would read it. It made my whole day better.

See, I now follow your blog. I would be SAD if you quit. *nod*

And from my experience with my blog, being on twitter is a HUGE reason for our success and the friendships I've made. If you wanna try that. I will HAPPILY help you. And I'm also good at promoting blogs. :)

Then maybe you should keep doing it. You don't even have to post everyday, just post when you have time, or when you feel like it. And maybe you'll just keeping help that one person at a time.

Do what you love to do! Don't quit if you don't want to. If you enjoy it, then keep at it, but you have to do what makes you happy.
