Keeping The Moon by Sarah Dessen

Synopsis: Fifteen-year-old Colie is spending the summer with her eccentric Aunt Mira while her mother travels. Formerly chubby and still insecure, Colie has built a shell around herself. But her summer with her aunt, her aunt's tenant Norman, and her friends at the Last Chance Diner -- teaches her some important lessons about friendship and learning to love yourself.

*insert major squeal moment* <3 Keeping The Moon. Beyond adorable. Out of her what 9 books? This is my favorite. Okay I know Ive said that before but still *hugs book* This book was beyond cute. It had a real meaning buried in there. I loved how she told us about her mother became who she was and how it affected her whole family. I loved Aunt Mira, and all the characters were just so colorful. Colie was a true individual. She had insecurities but was afraid to express them. I loved how she was always thinking, "I wish I still had my fat to hide behind." Truly amazing. I really hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
Pages: 400
Pub Date: February 28, 2008
Author Website/Blog: http://writergrl.livejournal.com/
Synopsis: When Annabel, the youngest of three beautiful sisters, has a bitter falling out with her best friend the popular and exciting Sophie she suddenly finds herself isolated and friendless. But then she meets Owen a loner, passionate about music and his weekly radio show, and always determined to tell the truth. And when they develop a friendship, Annabel is not only introduced to new music but is encouraged to listen to her own inner voice. With Owen's help, can Annabel find the courage to speak out about what exactly happened the night her friendship with Sophie came to a screeching halt?

This was most definitely my least favorite so far. The tie ins with her other novel "This Lullaby" were so obvious and annoying it hurt. It was like a really bad fanfiction. I just kept groaning through out the whole book. The beginning was slow and boring. It had way to much background information. The middle was ok... It was mostly just background information still, and it was really slow. A hundred pages=2 days (exaggeration) I was bored, it took me the longest ever to finish this book. It was definitely her worst work. I will never understand how people rave about this book. I hated it. I only liked a wee part of the story involving modeling. The ending was sweet, but it was still dull and over done. I am never reading this book again. Good by Just Listen.

Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers.Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat left for her. But now that a serial killer is terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, Violet realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet find the murderer-and Violet is unnerved by her hope that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. 7.99; 405 Pages, Published: February 23, 2010
Synopsis: Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.

Yay, I most likely will NOT have an IMM next week so thanks for staring at this one :)

Synopsis: When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about?

I loved it so much, I think I went aww about 20 times at the end. It was so cute. It was once again a love story for non believers. And it hit close to home. I could really connect with Remy as a person because sadly, in the world of romance I am a lot like that. But thats what made the book so special. Finally a romance for girls like me who are picky, have rules, and just cant stand certain things being certain ways.  Not many people would understand Remy, because they are the types that sit on their couches reading romance novels going, "Thatll be me some day." I loved her mom, and her several broken romances. She reminded me of the classic example of a romance writer. I simply loved it. I could totally imagine her name on a Harlequin Romance novel cover. This book was just amazing. It was once again, a tale of love for non believers. You may not ever find love, or you may convince yourself of that, but hey this book may just change your mind :)

Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

Author Website/Blog: http://writergrl.livejournal.com/
Synopsis: "Ruby, where is your mother?" Ruby knows that the game is up. For the past few months, she's been on her own in the yellow house, managing somehow, knowing that her mother will probably never return. That's how she comes to live with Cora, the sister she hasn't seen in ten years, and Cora's husband Jamie, whose down-to-earth demeanor makes it hard for Ruby to believe he founded the most popular networking Web site around. A luxurious house, fancy private school, a new wardrobe, the promise of college and a future—it's a dream come true. So why is Ruby such a reluctant Cinderella, wary and defensive? And why is Nate, the genial boy next door with some secrets of his own, unable to accept the help that Ruby is just learning to give

It was so adorable, and sweet. It was one of those stories you couldnt help but fall in love with. I really loved how Ruby was so independent, yet when she tried to help someone she had to realize she had to give some to get some. I loved that! And also how angry everyone would get when she screwed up MAJORLY! Granted I understand how Ruby feels about everything, but I also love it how after she has some realizations about just everything she changes for the better. GOTTA LOVE THAT STUFF! Anyway, I loved how sad it was with what happened between her and her sister, yet I found Nate an adorable sweet heart! No wonder she continued to try and help him! Another great book by Sarah Dessen.

Someone Like You By Sarah Dessen

Synopsis: Halley has always followed in the wake of her best friend, Scarlett. But when Scarlett learns that her boyfriend has been killed in a motorcycle accident, and that she's carrying his baby, she's devastated. For the first time ever, Scarlett really needs Halley. Though their friendship may be tested by the strain, like a true friendship, it will endure.

This book was sad. As in to sad. I sorta wish I hadnt read it. It was one of those books were you love it but you regret ever opening it. Yes, it also made me angry. But that was Macom's fault. It was sad because of everything Scarlett went through. Im sorry but that was just devestating. It broke my heart. I could only think of girls out there who actually have to go through that. This book was amazing thought. Yes, there were dozens of people I was dying to punch. Sadly that couldnt happen. Oh well. I still loved it.
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

At first she's both drawn and repelled by her lab partner, but when she sees V-shaped scars on his back, Nora learns Patch is fighting an ancient battle between the fallen and the immortal.

Oo I loved it! It totally fed my hunger for fallen angels! They totally seem to be the new obsession! *boots vampires out the window* Patch! Loved him! I loved how..... well I cant really say that. Now can I? Anyway, this book was great. I fell in love with Nora and Patches story. However I was DYING to punch Vee in the face most of the story. Vee really annoyed me. She was really selfish. Anyway, I even wrote an essay on this book . Thats how much I loved it. Twilight lovers, go read it. The plot line is familiar.

Synopsis: For fifteen-year-old Haven, life is changing too quickly. She's nearly six feet tall, her father is getting remarried, and her sister the always perfect Ashley is planning a wedding of her own. Haven wishes things could just go back to the way they were. Then an old boyfriend of Ashley's reenters the picture, and through him, Haven sees the past for what it really was, and comes to grips with the future.

I loved this book, it really showed how even though we all feel we are grown up and understand our surroundings completely, we are still naive inside. To be completely honest I chose this just because I found out there was  a movie based on two Sarah Dessen novels. Sad, I know. But Im glad I found this out because I loved this book. A friend and I were actually having a argument about Sarah Dessen's plots. She claims they never change and they constantly stay the same. I argued each one was different. This book proves that. Okay so granted a lot of Sarah Dessen books go, "Girl is independent, girl meets boy, girl struggles with boy, boy does something stupid, boy and girl are over." It didnt. Unless you want to do a  lot of digging to prove taht it does youve just gotta face it, it doesnt. This book was amazing. I loved it and I found it a great way to spend my day. Im quickly racing through her books and just wait for more to be seen :)

Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen

Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen
Pages: 384
Pub Date: June 16, 2009
Synopsis: It's been so long since Auden slept at night. Ever since her parents' divorce--or since the fighting started. Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live. A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she's been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend.

I loved this book. I had been dying to read this for a few months now and when I finally got it I decided it was definitely worth the wait. At the beginning of the book I was sorta like, "uh..." but then as I read on and Eli became a big part of the book I couldnt put it down. Eli was one of those characters were no matter how he acted you just couldnt help but love him. Is that sappy? I think it does sound sappy but its true! Before I read Along For The Ride I had never picked up a single Sarah Dessen book. Great way to get hooked on a author. Dont ya think? Granted I wouldnt really recomend that twilight fanatics read this book I still think that the average teenage girl who believes in love should go out and read it.
