Synopsis: When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about?

I loved it so much, I think I went aww about 20 times at the end. It was so cute. It was once again a love story for non believers. And it hit close to home. I could really connect with Remy as a person because sadly, in the world of romance I am a lot like that. But thats what made the book so special. Finally a romance for girls like me who are picky, have rules, and just cant stand certain things being certain ways.  Not many people would understand Remy, because they are the types that sit on their couches reading romance novels going, "Thatll be me some day." I loved her mom, and her several broken romances. She reminded me of the classic example of a romance writer. I simply loved it. I could totally imagine her name on a Harlequin Romance novel cover. This book was just amazing. It was once again, a tale of love for non believers. You may not ever find love, or you may convince yourself of that, but hey this book may just change your mind :)

Synopsis: Why it still sucks to be me: Here I am some all-powerful (ha), all-knowing (yeah right), in-control (totally not) vampire, and my parents and the stupid Vampire Council still get to dictate everything I do. Not only did they make me fake my death AND funeral (I didn't even get to go!), but I had to leave behind my BFF Serena and move really far away. Meanwhile my boyfriend George is off "reconnecting with his parents" in Brazil. Land of beaches, bikini babes, and the biggest party in the world. He's probably going "Mina, who?" Grady asked me to Homecoming and won't take no for an answer. Did I mention cute but oh-so-complicated Cameron, the only other bloodsucking teen in town? That's because I'm trying not to think about him, tahnk you very much. And ugh, Raven. Is she seriously stalking Serena? Vampire superstrength can't fix this trainwreck. But can I?

Must I spell it out for you? I simply loved it. It was hilarious. I found it even funnier then the first book, (but then again, there was more cause for laughter in this book) (ie cow pie crown) However this book had a lot more drama in it. A lot. In the last book it was mostly teenage drama, this time it was like 'life or death,' drama. Good. I loved this book  a lot because it had a lot more sarcasm, and there was a lot more lightheartedness in this one. Which of course I loved :) I loved how it constantly goes, "Well the the Vampire Council in California while the one here is all relaxed and stuff." Loved that. I also loved how it was a vampire story, with once again an average teenagers strife. (No apologies to Twilight, sorry but teenagers lives are NOT like that) It seems that all second books are the best one and Still Sucks To Be Me is no exception. Dear vampire fans, go read it, although its recomended the first one is read first :)

Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

Synopsis: "Ruby, where is your mother?" Ruby knows that the game is up. For the past few months, she's been on her own in the yellow house, managing somehow, knowing that her mother will probably never return. That's how she comes to live with Cora, the sister she hasn't seen in ten years, and Cora's husband Jamie, whose down-to-earth demeanor makes it hard for Ruby to believe he founded the most popular networking Web site around. A luxurious house, fancy private school, a new wardrobe, the promise of college and a future—it's a dream come true. So why is Ruby such a reluctant Cinderella, wary and defensive? And why is Nate, the genial boy next door with some secrets of his own, unable to accept the help that Ruby is just learning to give

It was so adorable, and sweet. It was one of those stories you couldnt help but fall in love with. I really loved how Ruby was so independent, yet when she tried to help someone she had to realize she had to give some to get some. I loved that! And also how angry everyone would get when she screwed up MAJORLY! Granted I understand how Ruby feels about everything, but I also love it how after she has some realizations about just everything she changes for the better. GOTTA LOVE THAT STUFF! Anyway, I loved how sad it was with what happened between her and her sister, yet I found Nate an adorable sweet heart! No wonder she continued to try and help him! Another great book by Sarah Dessen.

Synopsis: Halley has always followed in the wake of her best friend, Scarlett. But when Scarlett learns that her boyfriend has been killed in a motorcycle accident, and that she's carrying his baby, she's devastated. For the first time ever, Scarlett really needs Halley. Though their friendship may be tested by the strain, like a true friendship, it will endure.

This book was sad. As in to sad. I sorta wish I hadnt read it. It was one of those books were you love it but you regret ever opening it. Yes, it also made me angry. But that was Macom's fault. It was sad because of everything Scarlett went through. Im sorry but that was just devestating. It broke my heart. I could only think of girls out there who actually have to go through that. This book was amazing thought. Yes, there were dozens of people I was dying to punch. Sadly that couldnt happen. Oh well. I still loved it.

Synopsis: Partnered in biology with new student Patch, 16-year-old Nora Gray starts seeing things she cannot explain. At first she's both drawn and repelled by her lab partner, but when she sees V-shaped scars on his back, Nora learns Patch is fighting an ancient battle between the fallen and the immortal.

Oo I loved it! It totally fed my hunger for fallen angels! They totally seem to be the new obsession! *boots vampires out the window* Patch! Loved him! I loved how..... well I cant really say that. Now can I? Anyway, this book was great. I fell in love with Nora and Patches story. However I was DYING to punch Vee in the face most of the story. Vee really annoyed me. She was really selfish. Anyway, I even wrote an essay on this book . Thats how much I loved it. Twilight lovers, go read it. The plot line is familiar.

Liar by Justine Larbalestier

Synopsis: Micah will freely admit she's a compulsive liar, but that may be the one honest thing she'll ever tell you. Over the years she's fooled everone; her classmates, her teachers, even her parents. And she's always managed to stay one step ahead of her lies. That is, until her boyfriend dies under brutal circumstances and her dishonesty begins to catch up with her. But is it possible to tell the truth when lying comes as easily as breathing?

This book was over complex in my opinion. I got so confused with all of the twists in the tale. The murder became much more confusing, Micah became much more confusing, her family became much more confusing. In fact the only thing I could understand as truth the whole book was the part about her being in a relationship with Zach. But honestly, I think thats the only non-complicated part of the story. I loved the book, dont get me wrong. I just wish it hadnt been so confusing. I know I should have expected it based upon the title and the synopsis but still. I guess Im just naive. Anyway I only learned about this book through the big whitewashing cover incident. (Take note that I made sure that I posted the *correct* cover.) However, when the whole book starts with a lie, and no simple lie at that, that should be the warning, that things will become far more complicated from there. But if you ignore the complexity of the story then dive in for a wild adventure that will leave you wondering.

Perchance To Dream by Lisa Mantchev
Pages: 352
Pub Date: June 2010
Author Website/Blog: http://lisamantchev.livejournal.com/
Synopsis: Growing up in the enchanted Theatre Illuminata, Beatrice Shakespeare Smith learned all about every play ever written, but she didnt know that she, too, had magic. Now, she is the Mistress of Revels, the Teller of Tales, and is determined to follow her stars. Bertie can make things happen by writing them, but outside the walls of the Theatre, they dont go as planned. And her magic cannot help her make a decision between Nate, her suave pirate, and Ariel, a seductive air spirit.
When Nate is taken prisoner be the Sea Goddess, only Bertie can free him, and she and her fairy sidekicks embark on a journey, using Bertie's word magic to guide them. Bertie's dreams are haunted by Nate, whose love for Bertie is keeping him alive, but in the daytime, its Ariel who is tantalizingly close, and the one she is falling for. Who does Bertie love the most? And will her magic be powerful enough to save her once she enters the Sea Goddess's lair?

Only Lisa Mantchev can draw me into a book like this. Honest, I screamed when I found out she was letting bloggers begin to review ARCs of Perchance To Dream. And then I jumped at the chance! I mean, its PERCHANCE TO DREAM! I even stated in my Eyes Like Stars review that I was DYING to read the next book. And here it is in my hot little hands to review :). Anyway. LOVED IT! And this is my sad attempt at trying to keep spoilers out of the review. Ill give away a bit, though. I loved it how right away a dozen questions from the last book were answered and then our eyes were set upon a new goal. A lovely goal, of which we dream of. Rescue Nate! Granted he tells her not to doesnt stop Bertie! This book was hilarious, (but what is new with the fairies) and it had a ton of new characters that I fell in love with (and I really hope they will be in the next book or else me and Lisa Mantchev will have a problem) Granted there is that scene that is teh climax that ALWAYS confuses me, but then again I always end up having to stop as it begins, causing me to miss important information. So anyway, when this book comes out in June go buy it! Trust me. Youll die laughing with all the pie, and of course a wonderful new addition, Peaseblossoms boyfriend, Henry, the almond paste man! Youll cry with the decisions that must be made, the ever torturous question, "Ariel, or Nate." (I think it should be Nate, but hey im just a reviewer.....) So anyway, I promise youll love this book. Any fan of Eyes Like Stars or parodys of plays should read it. It wont dissapoint. (Pssst if you cant wait till June Lisa is holding constant contests for shiny new ARCs.... You know you want one :D)

1/2 Day For Us Equals DOUBLE The Books For YOU (Sweet Life of Stella Madison by Lara M. Zeises + Between Mom And Jo by Julie Anne Peters)

Sweet Life of Stella Madison by Lara M. Zeises
Pages: 240
Pub Date: July 14, 2009
Synopsis: It's not easy being the daughter of a famous chef and a restaurant owner when your idea of a great meal is the kind that's served via a drive-through window. Seventeen-year-old Stella Madison's food-loving parents have been separated for years, but they're still as sweet to each other as can be, which is just the way Stella likes it. When their connections help her land a summer job at the local newspaper, the salary is hard to resist. There's only one catch: she's expected to write about food.
Now Stella will need all the advice she can get to complete her assignments. Luckily, she has Jeremy, the hot new intern at her mom's restaurant, who's more than happy to help. Soon, Stella can't stop thinking about Jeremy--but where does that leave Stella's boyfriend, Max, who recently dropped the L-word? If that's not confusing enough, her dad's interest in the pretentious programming director of the Food Network seems to go beyond the culinary, and it looks like her mother might be cooking up a romance of her own….

I loved this book, although there were a few parts I would rather have skipped. Like the constant, "Who do I choose," pages. But this was a great book, sadly I happen to be a fan of foodie teen books and this one was different from the others, not in the way I was expecting. I was looking for more of a food book trying to discover a little more about the character, not her confusing love life. However I simply loved the portion about how she found out about her parents, that was pure teen writer, I loved it. Usually I shy away from the over done world of teendom that books tend to follow but this one brought that world in and still kept me reading.

Between Mom And Jo by Julie Anne Peters
Pages: 240
Pub Date: April 1, 2008
Author Website/Blog: http://www.julieannepeters.com/
Synopsis: Nick has a three-legged dog named Lucky, some pet fish, and two moms who think he's the greatest kid ever. And he happens to think he has the greatest Moms ever, but everything changes when his birth mom and her wife Jo start to have marital problems. Suddenly, Nick is in the middle, and instead of having two Moms to turn to for advice, he has no one.Nick's emotional struggle to redefine his relationships with his parents will remind readers that a family's love can survive even the most difficult times.

I think there is only one word to describe this book, sad. The last 5 chapters that was all I did. I fell in love with this book, because it gave me a even wider look at the world that I am still learning about. Months ago I would have stuck my tongue out and said no to this book. Simply because it focused on the lives of lesbians. But now. Oh god I think Im going to be reading a lot more books like this from now on. This story focuses on the difficult life of Nick, a child of two lesbians. For most of his life they loved each other but always had problems. But it eventually boils down to where its all over. And Nick simply cant handle it any more. This book had a lot of tragedy and I realized that this is how it actually was for teenagers and children of Lesbians. Even if your a homophobe I recomend this book because well, its a great read for everyone. It shows a real world that you may have always misunderstood.

Synopsis: For fifteen-year-old Haven, life is changing too quickly. She's nearly six feet tall, her father is getting remarried, and her sister the always perfect Ashley is planning a wedding of her own. Haven wishes things could just go back to the way they were. Then an old boyfriend of Ashley's reenters the picture, and through him, Haven sees the past for what it really was, and comes to grips with the future.

I loved this book, it really showed how even though we all feel we are grown up and understand our surroundings completely, we are still naive inside. To be completely honest I chose this just because I found out there was  a movie based on two Sarah Dessen novels. Sad, I know. But Im glad I found this out because I loved this book. A friend and I were actually having a argument about Sarah Dessen's plots. She claims they never change and they constantly stay the same. I argued each one was different. This book proves that. Okay so granted a lot of Sarah Dessen books go, "Girl is independent, girl meets boy, girl struggles with boy, boy does something stupid, boy and girl are over." It didnt. Unless you want to do a  lot of digging to prove taht it does youve just gotta face it, it doesnt. This book was amazing. I loved it and I found it a great way to spend my day. Im quickly racing through her books and just wait for more to be seen :)

My Invented Life by Lauren Bjorkman
Pages: 240
Pub Date: September 29, 2009
Synopsis:With Roz and Eva everything becomes a contest—who can snag the best role in the school play, have the cutest boyfriend, pull off the craziest prank. Still, they’re as close as sisters can be. Until Eva deletes Roz from her life like so much junk e-mail for no reason that Roz understands. Now Eva hangs out with the annoyingly petite cheerleaders, and Roz fantasizes about slipping bovine growth hormone into their Gatorade.
Roz has a suspicion about Eva. In turn, Eva taunts Roz with a dare, which leads to an act of total insanity. Drama geeks clamor for attention, Shakespearean insults fly, and Roz steals the show in Lauren Bjorkman’s hilarious debut novel

This is definitely a good novel for anyone who wants a good laugh. And drama. Granted more comedy appears but STILL! Its a great novel. This book is actually special to me because I had never read a GLBT book before this. So awesome right? My first GLBT book is a hilarious one! Roz is a hilarious, annoying character that you cant help but love. Especially when she continues to bother her sister at the beginning of the story. One of my favorite characters was most definitely Andie. Who doesnt love a girl whose constantly changing the color of her nails and hair! Just a warning for all you homophobes out there, dont read this book. Although the whole "Im a lesbian!" thing starts out as a joke it will definitely lead to more. I loved this book, though. Read it, laugh, and enjoy!
